Ingrid Cortez (née Avellan) is the mother of Carmen and Juni Cortez and the wife of Gregorio Cortez. She is a master of espionage and keeps this a secret from her children until she is kidnapped and they must rescue her. She is one of the two tritagonists of Spy Kids (the other being Fegan Floop), a major character in Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams, and a cameo character in Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over.
Appearance[]
Ingrid is a gorgeous half Latina half Caucasian adult woman. She is average height and slim but toned figure. She has wavy red hair, cream skin, blue green eyes and full pink lips. In the first movie, her hair short in a wavy bob. In the second movie, her hair curlier and shoulder length and in the third movie, it’s shoulder length and straighter waves. On duty, she wears classy yet beautiful clothes. Off duty, she wears casual clothes.

Prior to the events of Spy Kids, Ingrid was sent on a mission to take out Gregorio Cortez. They were soon married, but their wedding reception was gatecrashed by an unseen enemy. They eventually retired from spy work, trading espionage for parenthood, keeping in touch with the OSS information and their secret agents, they managed to get a job as consultants and had their daughter, Carmen and son Juni.

In Spy Kids, Ingrid is a semi-retired member of the OSS, and keeps this a secret from her children until she and her husband Gregorio get kidnapped by the not-so evil Fegan Floop.
Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams[]
In Spy Kids 2, Ingrid is back working at the OSS.
Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over[]
In Spy Kids 3, Ingrid joined her family in defeating the Level 5 bosses that were summoned from the game, Game Over, to the real world by the Toymaker.
